Merina Hotel, Yaoundé

I had mixed feelings about my stay at this hotel. On one hand, the location is fantastic and the rooms are clean, which is a huge plus. However, I experienced significant issues with service, particularly with delays in meal service and a disappointing response from management regarding our concerns. Additionally, the internet was barely functional. Overall, it felt lacking in certain areas despite the positives.

I was directed to this hotel by the airline due to a flight delay. The location is quite a distance from the airport, which is a drawback for short stays. The staff was accommodating and polite, but we faced issues with room keys and a weak internet connection. On the bright side, the dinner by the swimming pool was enjoyable, and the room was spacious and clean, although the furniture showed some age. Overall, while it wasn't the best experience, I appreciated the effort made by the staff.

The hotel has a nice central location, which is definitely a plus, but there were quite a few hiccups during my stay. The staff were generally polite and accommodating, and I appreciated some of the amenities like the poolside dining. However, there were issues with the internet and my room key that made things a bit frustrating.

During my stay, I found the hotel to be satisfactory for a quick stopover, mainly due to its clean rooms and decent air-conditioning. The friendliness of the staff made my experience more pleasant, despite some challenges like the intermittent Wi-Fi and occasional traffic noise from the street. Overall, it serves the purpose well for a brief business trip but might not be ideal for longer visits.
